My bio:

I've been combining art and technology since I was a zygote. Any time not spent jumping flaming barrels with my BMX bike was spent drawing, writing software for a BBS I ran on my Apple ][+ computer, and making silly music videos with a guitar, drum machine, video camera and two VHS decks. If only YouTube were around in the 70s and 80s.

In the 16 years since I was distracted by college, I've been conceiving, designing, writing, directing and producing multi-platform media. We're talking everything from TV shows to mobile media; online communities to live performances; viral media, web sites, and games for console, handheld and online.

The first 10 years of my career revolved around multi-platform corporate communications, B-to-B and consumer advertising for Fortune 1000 clients. The birth of my children inspired me to shift my focus to multi-platform education and entertainment, primarily for kids aged 0-5 and 6-11, but I've also been known to develop media for grown-ups. You can see some evidence of this work in my select portfolio and client list, and read glowing recommendations from some of the connections in my LinkedIn profile.

I have eleven original properties in various stages of development and production at my company Eat Your Lunch and at production companies and networks around the universe. Thanks to my partners at Rubber Duck, ten music videos from my very first production - Bzots - will bow on Nicktoons Network later in 2008. My action-packed animated series Derby Girls is being developed with and distributed by Bejuba!, and my animated Freaky Frankenbike Patrol is in development with PorchLight and Jetix Europe. We're getting close to closing deals for a frenetic new mixed-media broadcast and mobile series called Mitchell & Mr. Crow.

This year has also seen the production of a short called Zombie Vs. Ballerina and its subsequent success on the international film festival circuit, the development of a book and toy combo for toddlers, two series for preschoolers, an over the top multi-platform sport/gameshow for 18-24s, and a live-action comedy series for grown-ups who like extreme music.

I also help companies create and develop their original properties. Along those lines, American Greetings' AGProperties division has hooked me as Executive Producer to develop a really amazing new multiplatform property. Playhouse Disney recently engaged me as a consulting producer to contribute writing and visuals for their new show Imagination Movers, who if you ask me are the Wiggles heirs apparent. The show launches September 6, 2008 on Playhouse Disney.

My most recent position was Creative Director of Interactive Media at Sesame Workshop, where I was responsible for directing the creative development of games and content for the web, interactive TV, console, handheld and mobile devices. Some of the brands I worked with included Sesame Street, Electric Company, Dragon Tales and Pinky Dinky Doo.

The previous 8 years found me at the helm of Streams, one of Chicago's first and most successful interactive media design firms. After founding Streams in 1994, I grew the company to an internationally-respected, award-winning team of 25 serving Fortune 1000 clients around the world. In 2001, I sold Streams to a larger technology consultancy. The next few years were spent integrating the two companies' teams and processes.

AdAge, Adweek, Animation Magazine, Chicago Magazine, Chicago Sun-Times, Channel Frederator, Chicago Tribune, Crains, Kidscreen, Print, Screen, Sports Illustrated, The Wall Street Journal, The World’s Weirdest Web Sites and The People Who Create Them, Time Out, Wired and others have thought enough about me and/or my ideas over the years to have someone interview me and type something up.

I've served as a judge for the Chicago International Film Festival, London International Advertising Awards and the Clio Awards. Also been a member of the Advisory Board of the Association for Multimedia Communications and the International Academy of Merchandising & Design, and I'm often engaged to speak about technology and creativity.

If you're looking for a multi-platform writer, producer, or creative director in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, London, Toronto, Vancouver, or anywhere else accessible by modern means of transportation or electronic communication, all you must do is:
